Agent dragged by vehicle after warning driver about illegal parking in Londrina

A Municipal Transit and Urbanization Company (CMTU) agent was dragged by a vehicle after giving a warning to a driver who parked in an illegal spot in downtown Londrina, in the northern state of Paraná. The incident took place on Wednesday (17) on Duque de Caxias Avenue, but the video was released on Monday (22).

According to the department, the driver parked the car in a prohibited area and the agent instructed him to remove it, which led to an argument between the two.

The footage recorded by a surveillance camera shows the moment when the driver moves the car away from the corner and stops on a sidewalk. Seconds later, the vehicle accelerates, dragging the agent through the door.

According to CMTU, the tablet used by the agent fell into the vehicle and the driver left the scene. The device was recovered later that day and the suspect was identified.

The employee suffered minor injuries with bruises on her legs and dislocated shoulders. She received medical assistance on the day of the incident and was discharged.

In a statement, CMTU announced that a police report was filed and a physical examination will be conducted, allowing for the possibility of pressing criminal charges against the suspect.

Also in a statement, the company responsible for the vehicle and the employee involved in the altercation reported that they became aware of the incident through the media and have suspended the employee from his duties.
